Welcome to our website !

oh lets eat this.

a food blog about my journey as a developing cook.

December 18th 2014 was a revelation for my whole life as a wife.

I didn't realize it but, I decided to make something from scratch. It didn't occur to me that it involved 11 ingredients and it might be time consuming. I just wanted another challenge.

Honey Garlic Chicken. The original recipe

It tasted like heaven. And now I make from scratch without cringing. It's so much easier than I thought!

First week back from our honeymoon I was having a major anxiety attack.
I can't even boil water. How in the world am I going to be able to make a meal?

Immediately I was regretting the fact that I never wanted to cook with my mother. Not to mention I only buttered rolls and cut green onions. Yes, those are the only cooking aspects I learned.
Totally sad. Can we all just wallow in self pity for a second?

Ok.

So after a few more weeks of begging for take out and resturant food on the weekends. My husband made it very clear that we need to grocery shop and eat in for once in our lives. Oh no...now I have to cook. I mean, I knew it was going to happen eventually, but it didn't register how soon...
After much freaking out and buying random things off the shelves of meijer...

I decided to google. I googled easy chicken recipes. allrecipes.com had a SUPER easy recipe (but, at the time I was hyperventilating about it) called "Easy Garlic Chicken"
Now I am not kidding you one bit, I watched that video over 10 times.

I had to see everything to the very last detail. Perfectionism is a good and bad trait. I think so deep about something and ask so many questions people get annoyed with me but, I want to do something right the first time.

First of all. Why did I make so much chicken for just the two of us? I don't even know.
But, I wanted to tell the world that I was taking a chance. And whether I succeeded or failed, at least I tried.

Well, I succeeded. And from that point on I decided I can follow a recipe! So I was in search of more... But, it all started with the Easy Garlic Chicken. I am forever grateful for my first tackled recipe.
